In late September of 2025, an idea was placed on my heart.  I wanted to raffle a few massage gift certificates from Healing Hands of Estacio and use the money raised to help a local family during the Christmas season.

 

It was not a large or elaborate plan.  I did not have months to organize it, a fundraising committee behind me, or any expectation that it would raise thousands of dollars.

I simply knew that every dollar mattered.

 

If one raffle could provide even a small amount of help or hope to a family during the holidays, then every effort would be worthwhile.  I shared the idea with what I lovingly call my massage family—the wonderful clients who have supported Healing Hands of Estacio throughout the years.

Almost immediately, something beautiful began to happen.  Creative clients offered to make handcrafted gift baskets. Others donated products, gifts, and thoughtful items to support the cause.

Inspired by their generosity, I reached out to several local small businesses with whom I had built meaningful relationships and collaborations.

They loved the idea. They wanted to help. And one by one, they joined us.

 

Businesses donated products, services, gift certificates, experiences, and beautifully themed baskets. Some baskets were valued at more than $100, while others reached values of $400 or more.

 

There was no competition.

There was no focus on who received the most recognition.

There was only collaboration, compassion, and a shared desire to help local families.

That is how Miracle on Route 6: Giving Back Together was born.

The event was taking place along Route 6—but truthfully, I was also hoping for a miracle.

A miracle that would bring businesses together.

A miracle that would inspire the community.

A miracle that would create something meaningful for families during the holidays.

 

In only six short weeks, that miracle happened.

Together, we raised $1,200, with 100% of the proceeds donated to the Greater United Way to help local families during the 2025 Christmas season.

 

But the greatest miracle was not simply the amount of money raised.

It was the unity.

Businesses became partners.

Neighbors became volunteers.

Strangers became friends.

And our community discovered what becomes possible when people choose collaboration over competition and kindness over recognition.

That experience inspired a greater vision.

Today, the fundraiser that began as Miracle on Route 6 has grown into Hope for the Holidays, the signature annual event presented by Together – Protected by Faith. Powered by Community.

 

The name has changed, but its heart remains exactly the same:

Bringing people together to create hope for local families.
